My Healthy Funny Children

My girls are almost always happy.  My 3-year-old is smiling unless she isn’t getting her way, imagine that.  She hates clothes.  Her prime enjoyment is to run around naked all day unless we go outside of the house.  When I try to put clothes on her she takes off like a wild deer in the opposite direction. white-tailed-deer-520943_1280

My 8-month-old baby has recently learned to scoot.  She lies on her belly, slaps her hands down in front of herself on the floor, and pulls herself forward.  She’s already being sneaky.  When I move her from someplace where she isn’t supposed to be I get yelled at.  In other words she cries really loud.  She already knows what she wants.

I try to give my toddler a good diet.  At one point she loved broccoli.  This lasted about a month before she decided that she never wanted it again.  I try to limit her sugary drinks, although it’s hard to say no when we are in the middle of Wal-Mart, she lets out a happy holler, and runs as fast as she can to the nearest cooler to grab a Fruit Shoot.  It’s actually only like 10% real fruit.  How misleading…but how can I say no.  She doesn’t get one very often, and studies have shown that denying children what they really want can cause them eating issues in the future.  Well sometimes I tell her no, but not always.

Recently, my mom and I went to a sheep sale.  She took us to a quick-lunch on the way home.  McDonald’s was the only place that had room for a trailer.  We were walking out when my toddler proudly declared that was a nice dinner…  I haven’t laughed that hard in a long time.  McDonald’s does have decent salads.

My toddler has a bantam rooster that she named Fred.  She loves to carry him around.  When we are outside Fred isn’t far.  For a day, and a half we were to busy for her to get to play with him.  The first free chance she got she sped over to the chicken house, and grabbed Fred.  She was so excited she didn’t even stop to pee…  She is usually pretty good about making it to the potty.  I imagine she was afraid that if she stopped to pee I would tell her she can’t play with Fred yet.agriculture-71663_1280

I don’t have any secrets on how to get your toddler to eat healthy.  I’m lucky to get mine to eat at all!  I’ve tried healthy recipes designed specifically for toddlers, and she wouldn’t touch them.  I’m just lucky my girls are happy, and healthy!
